Brazeau County is located in the heart of West-Central Alberta, Canada, an outdoor enthusiasts paradise, it is a region rich with large tracts of boreal forest, with 4 main watercourses traversing through it; the North Saskatchewan River, Pembina River, Brazeau River and the Brazeau Reservoir.   A popular spot for campers, atv enthsuiasts, hunters , paddlers and lovers of water and the wilderness.  Located just 2 hours west of Edmonton Alberta, and in close proximity to the Rocky Mountain Resort areas the Brazeau Area is a natural attraction for recreators from Alberta's capital city.  

The Province of Alberta and Brazeau County recognize the potential of this area and have worked together to allocate an area of crown land within thick boreal forest and adjacent to the large freshwater body know as the Brazeau Reservoir, for commercial tourism development.  For two years the Province and the County have worked to make this area Investment Ready, completing an Area Structure Plan, a Survey of the existing recreators in the area and most importantly an Opportunity Analysis which breaks down the financial and infrastructure resources necessary for the development of a Resort which could include cabins, a full service RV Park, horse trails, boat rental, hiking trails, etc. For more information on these documents please visit the documents section of our website to download you copies...., and Welcome to Brazeau County
